Charleswood Youth Curling

 
The youth curling program is for curling ages 7 to 20. It is primary an instructional and recreational curling program. The program has three sections.

  • Charleswood Little Rockers Curling
  • Charleswood Bantam Curling
  • Charleswood Junior Curling

 
 

Charleswood Junior Curling

 The Charleswood Junior Program is for youth 16 to 20 years old

Coordinator: Brian Armstrong @ 204-895-7595
Time: Saturdays 3:30PM
Ice Time: 2 Hours

Teams

  • Curlers choose with whom they would like to curl
  • Curlers without a team are placed on teams

Coaches

  • Each team can have a coach
  • Coaches are permitted to call 3 minute break at the completion of the 4 end

On Ice Procedure

  • Each game is played for the full time period
  • Skills, Rules, and Ice Etiquette are constantly enforced

 

Charleswood Bantam Curling

Scotties - Bantam Curling

 The Charleswood Bantam Program is for youth 10 to 13 years old

Coordinator: Jim McRae @ 204-612-1728
Time: Saturdays 11:30AM and 1:30PM
Ice Time: 1 Hour & 45 Minutes

Teams

  • Curlers choose with whom they would like to curl
  • Curlers without a team are placed on teams

Coaches

  • Each team has a coach on ice with them

  • The first 15 minutes are for instruction and practice
  • After practice a game is played for the remaining time
  • Skills, Rules, and Ice Etiquette are constantly enforced

 

Charleswood Little Rockers Curling

Scotties - Little Rockers Curling

 The Charleswood Little Rockers Program is for youth 7 to 9 years old

Time: Saturdays 10:00AM
Ice Time: 1 Hour & 30 Minutes

Teams

  • Curlers choose with whom they would like to curl
  • Curlers without a team are placed on teams

Coaches

  • Each team has a coach on ice with them
  • One coach helps at the hacks and one helps in the house

On Ice Procedure

  • The first 15 minutes are for instruction and practice
  • After practice a game is played for the remaining time
  • Skills, Rules, and Ice Etiquette are constantly enforced
  • Each end is scored, the scores are put onto the scoreboard as a learning experience
  • Wins and loses are not recorded
  • Full Size rocks are used
  • Half sheets are used
  • A extra house is used half way down a regular sheet
